Final Exam (60 points)
There are no formal records of any witches or wizards attempting to reach
space, however an interview in the magazine The Quibbler does describe the
story of a wizard reaching the moon by broomstick upon a Cleansweep Six, who
brought back Moon Frogs to prove it. Given the questionable standards of The
Quibbler's journalism, this story is unlikely to be true.
Each of you witches and wizards will be attempting to make the first formally recorded attempt to survive in space using magic.
You must write a plan that outlines how you will deal with each of the areas we have learned about in this class: pressure, microgravity (fluid shift and bone/muscle loss), and radiation. The magical methods are yours to choose. You can use spells, magical creatures, potions, magical plants, portkeys, and more, but you must justify why you choose each method.
This exam is worth 60 points, and the points are evenly split between the 4 topics we learned about in this class: pressure, microgravity (fluid shift), radiation, microgravity (bone/muscle loss) (15 points each). You must answer the following for each of the 4 topics:
1) What effect does this topic have on the human body and why?
2) What magical solutions will you use to treat or avoid these effects?
3) Why did you choose that magical solution and how does it work?
You must write down all sources that you used. Minimum 600 words.
Good luck!
